An excellent choice if you're visiting the vibrant Vipava valley, Gostilna Krhne Vipava serves traditional cuisine with a very artistic modern flair.

The dessert of walnut strukli (dumplings) with cottage cheese, butter and walnuts was a seemingly simple but perfect combination of savoury and sweet.

Delish! Nice contrast creamy soup and sharp peppercorn. Pretty pink tinges.

Strukli (Dumpling), cottage cheese, walnuts, butter.

Delicious Slovenian dumpling made of flour and ground walnuts, in a creamy sauce topped with walnuts and melted butter, but not sweet overall. 

Utterly sublime, I ate the lot!
