This is quite an extraordinary wine that doused expectations. It wears an amber color shifted with a reddish peach-like blush, that suggested ‘orange’ wine-like apple skin aromas and flavors and hard, malic acid, tannic bite. But it wasn’t like that at all. True there were hints of apple skin aromas, but they were subtle, buried within a mineral gloss. Again expecting a harder edged mouthfeel, this didn’t appear supplanted by a rounded, plush mouthfeel, laced with pear-apricot flavors, integrated acidity and fine skin tannins. ACV’s pitch is in making talha wines that can age. Tasted four years after birth, this proved the point. 89
