Verus Sauvignon Blanc 2019 12.5% From a classical cooler year this shows lovely capsicum, gooseberry aromas and flavors with juicy, crisp finish. 15.25/20

Verus Sauvignon Blanc 2018 12.5% Aromas run to green leafy, flinty/gun powdery reductive notes. In the mouth wine is clean and crisp with lime/gooseberry flavors welling up on finish. Good length. 16.5/20

Verus Sauvignon Blanc 2009 12.5% Rich honey flavours, excellent balance. 18/20

Verus Pinot Gris 2019 13.5% From a cooler year with quite floral, flower stem and blossom aromas. Fleshy in the mouth with hints of tropical flavors it has firm acidity and persistence through a long, tapered finish. 16.5/20

Verus Pinot Gris 2018 13.5% Neutrally fruited, with rounded texture and fresh acidity. 15/20

Verus Furmint 2018 13% Interesting spearmint spice and grassy notes over baseline apple aromas. Medium bodied with juicy green apple flavors and nice tart acidity welling up at finish. 15.5/20

Verus Furmint 2019 13% Quite closed and reduced at the moment, offering little more than neutral aromas. Rounded dense texture with lots of acidity suggests it has a lot more to show in future after an hour or so of decanting. Lovely lime juice notes on finish. 15.5/20

Verus Riesling 2018 13% Initially closed, it gathers steam with airing showing hints of spicy Riesling honeyed/lemon/lime varietal characters. Full bodied, with a seamless texture cut through with lemon acidity. A really nice dry, clean, fresh, tight, nervy Riesling style. 16.5/20

Verus Riesling 2019 13% Opens with fresh, Wrigley’s juicy-fruit gum aromas, adding florals with airing. Slick and continuous in the mouth with nice length of flavor and juicy, ripe lemon flavors through the finish. 17/20

Verus Chardonnay 2019 13% This is from older Chardonnay vineyards, half from 1967 plantings and half from 1983. Although an unoaked style, it hints of natural vanilla bean florals and apple-like fruitiness. Medium bodied with sappy acidity and good length. A clean crisp, purely fruited wine style. 16/20

Verus Pinot Noir 2015 13% Shows correct varietal characters through a simple, direct, clean, pure fruited style. Nice spicy, red fruit and (oak derived?) cinnamon Pinot aromas. Rounded texture with red fruit flavors with touch of tarriness (reduced sulphide?) and savory, funky notes. Tannins, are fine, but on hard side, possibly because from youngish vines? Vines simply need more time to show more complexity. 15.5/20

Verus Pinot Noir 2019 an unfinished barrel sample. Nice fresh Red Fruit floral, with lots of fruit and texture in the mouth. Nicely balanced with great potential 16.5/20
