Farrapo Vinho de Talha Tinto 2020

Farrapo Vinho de Talha Tinto 2020

13.5% Vinho de Talha DOC. Farrapo means old cloaks, alluding to those worn by monks associated with Vila de Frades, which was known as the ‘village of monks.’ Further back in time, there’s a direct association with the nearby monks of Saõ Cucufate. It is a fruity style with red fruit characters and nicely lifted aromas and a touch of leather for interest. Still fresh, broadly fruited and mouth filling with a nicely tight bite of grippy tannins. This wine should last a long time. Although the vintage was 2 weeks earlier locally in 2020, it still managed to produce well ripened, rather than overly ripe fruit:  Alfrocheiro, Trincadeira, Tinta Roriz, Moreto, Tinta Grossa.
