Vipava 1894 ‘V’ Sauvignon Blanc 2018 13% Light bodied, grassy, crisp, clean easy drinking, bone dry wine at a sharp price. 15/20

Vipava 1894 Sauvignon Blanc 2018 12.6% My first tasting of this wine June, 2019. Brightly lit, fruity, spicy aromas. Nicely polished, fleshy texture that continuous and long finishing. A very pure style. 17.5/20

Vipava 1894 Lanthieri Sauvignon Blanc 2018 12.6% Made with spontaneous yeast ferments and short skin contact. Tasted 9 months later it offers lovely green herbal, tomato leaf, with tropical grapefruit and passionfruit flavors. Smooth, slick and crisp, it has a really nice long mineral finish. 17.5/20 Tasted 2.2020

Vipava 1894 Lanthieri Sauvignon Blanc 2017 12.5% Opens with delicate white blossom perfume which airs into fresh grassy herbal background. Hints of boxwood and white pepper. All quite subtle but interesting. Sweetly ripe gooseberry flavors in the mouth, with fine linear texture and fine acidity carrying it through to finish. After airing in glass it develops wonderfully broad and floral green stem aromas and becomes quite viscous in mouth. Fuller, richer and riper than 2018. 17/20 tasted 1.20 and 2.20

Vipava 1894 Sauvignon Blanc Terrase 2018 13% Made with low yield grapes and barrel fermented with some skin contact and aged 15 months in oak. Interesting almost visceral aromas with a touch of fine vanilla oak notes. Oak influence is not intrusive or dominating. Offers multilayered complex, viscous textures in the mouth with long meltaway finish. 17/20

Vipava 1894 Vipavski 2018 traditional mixed vineyard varietals: Ribula, Malv, Pinella Zelan, nice grapey even handed aromas, grapey, mineral flavors racy acidity.

Vipava 1894 Malvasia Lanthieri 2018 Leads with lovely, bright, spicy aromas and green almond/citrus flavors and a pleasingly crisp acidity. 16.5/20

Vipava 1894 Malvasia Terase 2018 Malvasia is a pulpy grape variety, so after crushing this was left 4 days on skin aiming for a style like his grandfathers traditionally made. Thereafter matured in 500 litre barrels. Shows a mix of vanilla oak and almond notes and green almond/citrus flavors. 16.5/20

Vipava 1894 Chardonnay 2018 Opens with pure, pear aromas and flavors. A crisp, clean minerally infused style. 15.5/20

Vipava 1894 Chardonnay Terase 2018 Made with skin contact and barrel fermentation. Open with toasted oak aromas, but balanced not overpowering. Nicely balanced structure, with firm, well balanced acidity. Reminds one of barrel fermented Chablis. 16/20

Vipava 1894 Pinot Gris Lanthieri 2018 Opens with lovely spicy pear/apricot aromas -- great varietal character. In the mouth it’s tight with continuous texture, and finishes long and bone dry. 17/20

Vipava 1894 Pinot Gris Terase 2018 Barrel ferment, hence strong toasted oak aromas dominating nose at this point. Full bodied and quite visceral in the mouth with viscous texture cut by fine acidity. 15.5/20

Vipava 1894 Rebula 2018 14% Made with extended skin contact and barrel fermentation. This tips toward natural wine with no Sulphur or other chemical addition. Opening with interesting peach pit aromas and flavors. Relatively fresh, lively characters. Fullish bodied with firm fine tannins shot through and good length. 17/20

Vipava 1894 Zelan Lanthieri 2018 11.5% Fresh savory vegetable-herbal baseline aromas and flavors with clove high tones. Rounded, soft, fat, and fleshy in the mouth with just enough acidity to keep it interesting.

Vipava 1894 Lanthieri Pinela 2018 12.5% Leads with spicy pear/apple aromas and flavors. A linear, lighter bodied: creamy, crisp, and fine. 16/20
